As a learning and development facilitator, motivational speaker and business coach, Gretchen has been successfully inspiring and bringing out the best in people for over 15 years. She is passionate about developing leaders, right from the emerging level through to established managers, and has the skills and experience to make a true impact on others through her teaching, coaching and consultancy. Gretchen’s background in higher education and experience in business and project management, both in Australian and abroad, inform her ability to design and deliver innovative and practical learning experiences to a diverse audience, both online and face-to-face. She delivers training with creative energy and genuine passion for helping leaders, teams and organisations succeed.
Sharyn Clayton – Leadership Development and Team Building Facilitator – Brisbane
Sharyn has a natural ability to captivate and energise her audience and a great depth of experience to draw when training frontline managers and supervisors. Participants find her extremely approachable, a great listener, and very helpful when answering their questions and illustrating course content with real-life examples and interactive activities. She is a down-to-earth but professional facilitator with over 15 years’ experience training and developing others, from one-on-one leadership coaching through to developing and tailoring training programs for groups and presenting at conferences. From her extensive experience in customer service and frontline management roles and training others in a high pressure customer service environment, she has developed an exceptional ability to relate to people from many backgrounds. Sharyn takes a practical, understanding approach to helping individuals and organisations achieve their learning outcomes.
Brendan Barker – Learning and Development Consultant – Sydney
Brendan is a charismatic and flexible training facilitator with over 18 years’ experience working with national and international clients. This has included instructional design and delivery of customised corporate training and accredited programs on a range of topics including leadership, project management and customer service. To deliver an exceptional learning experience requires subject matter expertise and intuitive people skills that can only be gained through extensive experience in the classroom and in life. Helen Campling – Leadership Development and Team Building Facilitator – Sydney
As a key member of our Sydney training team, Helen excels at bringing course content to life and relating it back to participants’ everyday work lives. She is a knowledgeable and encouraging communicator with a knack for making difficult concepts easy to understand and helping people feel comfortable, open and eager to learn. Helen has over 20 years’ experience as a learning and development consultant and facilitator, as well as comprehensive, practical experience managing and mentoring people in financial services, customer service and HR roles. She has just the right blend of real-life experience and expertise in adult learning principals that makes a trainer professional, engaging and able to tailor content to suit and audience while achieving the learning objectives.
Paul de Martin – Leadership Development and Team Building Facilitator – SydneyPaul’s flexible and enthusiastic approach to professional development enables him to maximise participant involvement and enjoyment, whilst achieving the learning objectives. This is supported by over 25 years of management, sales, customer service and learning and development experience. By drawing on his extensive background in financial services and retail, Paul is able to bring “real world” scenarios into the training, challenging behaviour whilst providing a safe learning environment.
Jill McCrum – Leadership Development and Team Building Facilitator – Perth
Jill is an accomplished facilitator with over 20 years’ experience as a trainer and a passion for developing others through her coaching and training programs. She has a flexible and interactive training style, as well as a great depth of knowledge, especially in the areas of communication and leadership skills, from her background experience in sales and people management. Jill’s experience includes working as a training manager in a pharmaceutical company, and she has worked extensively in Australia, the UK and throughout Europe. She has completed studies in psychology that support and inform her ability to create a positive learning environment and see results within the individuals and teams she trains, helping them achieve better outcomes and behavioural change and making their work lives easier and more fulfilling.

Lexie Martin – Director
Lexie is passionate about bringing out the best in Australian leaders, teams and organisations through relevant and engaging learning and development solutions. Her extensive experience in business leadership, people management and education has culminated in the success of multiple business, including Odyssey Training, a national authority in the Australian training and development industry, which has flourished under her direction since 1996. In 2015, Lexie launched the Leadership Directions brand to provide Australian businesses with the benefit of training their emerging leaders and frontline managers through a dedicated leadership training provider with the backing of Odyssey’s established national training team. In its first year of operation, the business has already delivered numerous major leadership development and team building projects across government, private and not-for-profit sectors and had thousands of enrolments on its public schedule courses.
Sarah Stone – National Training Manager
Sarah’s dedication to providing leadership development and team building solutions that deliver genuine transformation to Australian businesses has been a driving force behind the successful launch of Leadership Directions. From her extensive experience managing people and leading organisations, she has developed a practical understanding of the challenges Australian leaders and managers face. She believes strongly that successful learning and leadership development is about more than just a training day, starting with a sincere and accurate needs analysis, and continuing after your course through an ongoing supportive relationship.
